About Me

Welcome to Wenying's website!

I am currently a Master student in Dr. Duncan Menge's lab at E3B department (Ecology, Environment, and Evolutionary Biology), Columbia University.

I recently graduated from University of Waterloo with honorous bachelor degree in Environmental Science, where I worked with Dr. Ralph Smith and Dr. Barbara Moffatt.

Growing Status of N Fixers along Forest Succession

Nutrient Cycling in Terrestrial Ecosystems

I am interested in ecosystem ecology, specifically focusing on nutrient cycling in terrestrial ecosystem and the consequential impact on a global scale. My current research primarily investigates N cycling in terrestrial forest ecosystems, focusing on symbiotic N-fixing process: this includes understanding of the physiological constraints of N fixation, abiotic and biotic interactions between N fixers and others, and the shifting in individual- and community-level responses under regime of climate change.
